RUE MORGUE’s latest collaboration with purveyors of weird audio fiction, HorrorBabble, is a snarling, spine-tingling descent into the world of beasts that walk like men! Welcome to WERWOLVES AND DOG MEN, a five-part horror series, with new episodes premiering every Wednesday through July 2.

This week’s episode is another classic from the golden age of pulp horror. First published in the April 1929 issue of Weird Tales, “The Hermit of Chemeketa Mountain” by Thomas de V. Harper is a terrifying yarn of anthropomorphism and the fate that befalls an unlucky man who investigates a hermit and his dogs.

“Turn out the lights. Shut the door. And listen closely… something is scratching at the threshold.”
