The folk-horror fable will start the summer movie season next year.
Neon will release HOKUM to theaters May 1, 2026. It was written and directed by Damian McCarthy of the acclaimed, award-winning ODDITY, and stars Adam Scott, Peter Coonan, David Wilmot, Florence Ordesh, Will O’Connell, Michael Patric, Siox C, Brendan Conroy, Austin Amelio and Ezra Carlisle. The synopsis: “When reclusive novelist Ohm Bauman [Scott] retreats to a remote Irish inn to scatter his parents’ ashes, the staff’s tales of an ancient witch haunting the honeymoon suite take hold of his mind. Soon, disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance draw him into a nightmarish confrontation with the darkest corners of his past.”
