Director Ryuhei Kitamura, whose credits include VERSUS, GODZILLA: FINAL WARS and THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, has helmed perhaps his most brutal film yet with DOWNRANGE, and the news just broke about its release. Read on for the info and the first look at the poster.

Horror streaming specialist Shudder has announced its acquisition of DOWNRANGE, and will debut it exclusively on April 26. The movie, which premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, was scripted by Joey O’Bryan from a story by him and Kitamura, and stars Kelly Connaire, Stephanie Pearson, Rod Hernandez-Farella, Anthony Kirlew, Alexa Yeames and Jason Tobias. The synopsis: “Six college students are carpooling cross-country when one of their tires blows out on a desolate stretch of country road. Getting out to fix the flat, they quickly discover that this was no accident. The tire was shot out. With their vehicle incapacitated, the group is pinned down and mercilessly attacked by an unseen assailant as they desperately attempt to find a way to escape.”
