H.P. Lovecraft film series coming to NYC, with many in 35mm

Classic fright fare inspired by the author’s writings are getting a major showcase at Halloweentime.

New York City’s Anthology Film Archives (32 2nd Avenue) has announced the lineup for its H.P. Lovecraft series that runs Wednesday, October 18-Saturday, November 5. It’s a collection of movies that are either direct adaptations of Lovecraft’s tales, or inspired/influenced by his themes, many of them to be shown on 35mm. The complete schedule is:

Roger Corman’s THE HAUNTED PALACE
1963, 87 min., 35mm
Wednesday, October 18 at 6:45, Thursday, October 26 at 9:15, and Tuesday, October 31 at 6:45.

Peter Weir’s THE LAST WAVE
