The acclaimed Creature will now be alive forever on physical media.

Variety reports that Guillermo del Toro’s FRANKENSTEIN, along with fellow Netflix title KPOP DEMON HUNTERS, have been added to the Criterion Collection. One of the laments about streaming movies is that they generally aren’t available to own on disc, so this is great news for del Toro fans. Specifics of the Criterion FRANKENSTEIN have yet to be announced, but no doubt it will be fully loaded with behind-the-scenes material and other extras. Criterion has previously issued del Toro’s CRONOS, THE DEVIL’S BACKBONE, PAN’S LABYRINTH, THE SHAPE OF WATER, NIGHTMARE ALLEY and PINOCCHIO. FRANKENSTEIN has won multiple awards this season (it claimed Costume Design, Makeup and Hair and Production Design at the BAFTA Film Awards over the weekend), and is nominated for nine Oscars
