The films of Al Adamson, Paul Naschy and others will get new life on the big screen.
Grindhouse Releasing has announced it has signed a deal to distribute the library of B-movie specialist Independent-International Pictures. The deal was negotiated through Drive In-Sanity’s David Sehring with I-I topper Samuel M. Sherman, shortly before Sherman’s death on September 29. Grindhouse is now poised to give new theatrical play to I-I titles including such Adamson-directed flicks as DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN (pictured above) and SATAN’S SADISTS, the Naschy-starrer FRANKENSTEIN’S BLOODY TERROR (which will be available in both 3-D and 2-D editions), John Russo’s killer-cult shocker MIDNIGHT, Sergio Martino’s giallo ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK, the Klaus Kinski krimi thriller CREATURE WITH THE BLUE HAND and others.
“Sam Sherman was one of the all-time great exploitation film producers and distributors,” says Grindhouse owner Bob Murawski. “I always dreamed of working with him and am honored we were his last movie deal.” The company is planning a drive-in tribute to Sherman for next year; for info on these screenings, keep an eye on Grindhouse’s official website.
