Grindhouse Releasing and Vinegar Syndrome host horror/cult-film marathons in LA this weekend

Italian and American favorites will be showcased in this pair of 12-hour events, including several 35mm showings.

Tomorrow, August 12, Grindhouse Releasing presents an all-day series of genre and exploitation movies at Beverly Hills’ Lumiere Cinema (9036 Wilshire Boulevard), which will then host a similar marathon of flicks from Vinegar Syndrome on Sunday, August 13. Both shows begin at 12 noon; tickets to the Grindhouse and Vinegar Syndrome marathons are $35 for general admission, or $50 for VIP tickets that include early admission, a poster and inclusion in a drawing to win Lumiere Cinema T-shirt. Both events are part of the launch celebration for Jason Rutherford’s epic (225-minute) cult-movie documentary MASTERS OF THE GRIND, showing tonight at the Lumiere at 7:30 p.m.

The Grindhouse marathon titles are:

  • VIC (35mm): 2:10 p.m.
  • PIECES (35mm): 2:50 p.m.
  • THE BEYOND (pictured; 35mm): 4:30 p.m.
  • CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST (35mm): 6:10 p.m.
  • I DRINK YOUR BLOOD (DCP): 7:55 p.m.
  • AN AMERICAN HIPPIE IN ISRAEL (DCP): 9:35 p.m.
  • THE TOUGH ONES (DCP): 11:20 p.m.

The Vinegar Syndrome lineup:

  • SHRIEK OF THE MUTILATED (DCP): 12 p.m.
  • NIGHT TRAIN TO TERROR (35mm): 1:40 p.m.
  • DON’T GO IN THE WOODS (35mm): 3:25 p.m.
