The best-selling book’s evil puppet is on its way to the screen.
Variety reports that Legendary Entertainment has won a bidding war for the movie rights to HOW TO SELL A HAUNTED HOUSE, the latest hit novel from author Grady Hendrix (MY BEST FRIEND’S EXORCISM, THE FINAL GIRL SUPPORT GROUP). Hendrix will script the adaptation, and produce with Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert’s Ghost House Pictures and Adam Goldworm’s Aperture Entertainment. James Ashcroft, the New Zealand filmmaker who won acclaim for COMING HOME IN THE DARK, will direct. The book synopsis: “Louise’s parents have passed away, and she’s returning to the small Southern town where she grew up to get their house ready to sell. It means she’ll have to spend time with her younger brother–and their old grudges make that a terrifying prospect. But childhood hurts pale in comparison to the dangers posed by what still lives inside the house.”
