Good Smile Company has opened preorders for a new Nendoroid figure modelled on Godzilla’s grotesque Second Form from 2016’s Shin Godzilla, giving fans of Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi‘s reinvention of the kaiju a pocket sized take on its most unsettling incarnation.
The roughly 6-inch figure follows Good Smile’s standard Nendoroid format: an oversized head on a small, posable body, with swappable parts letting owners recreate the Second Form’s lurching, half evolved stance. The set includes interchangeable jaw pieces for open and closed positions, a display stand, extra posing parts and, true to the source material, optional body fluid effect pieces referencing the creature’s infamous blood spraying gills.
The standard release is listed at $48.99 through Good Smile Company’s own storefront. A Godzilla Store exclusive edition, priced at $55.99, throws in a bonus “Unidentified Giant Creature” background accessory not available elsewhere, and can be preordered directly through the official Godzilla Store. Preorders for both versions close November 10, with shipping estimated for April 2027, a longer wait than most figure preorders but typical for the Nendoroid line’s production schedule.
It is a fittingly off kilter choice for a figure line better known for cute reinterpretations of anime and game characters: the Second Form is Godzilla at its most body horror; a fish eyed, gill ripped transitional stage that precedes the creature’s more familiar upright silhouette later in the film. Good Smile has turned other kaiju into Nendoroid form before, but committing to this particular, still divisive stage of Godzilla’s design says something about how far the fanbase is willing to follow.
No word yet on whether a Third Form or fully evolved Godzilla Nendoroid is planned to round out the set.
