French filmmakers in Japan have collaborated on this blood-streaked horror anthology.
TOKYO GRAND GUIGNOL will be available on Amazon in the U.S. and UK October 8 to rent and October 14 to purchase. Nicolas Alberny, Francois Gaillard, Gilles Landucci and Yann Moreau directed the segments; Alberny, Landucci, Moreau, Maki Hisatomi and Guilhem Sendras were the writers. “Behind the dazzling neon lights of Tokyo,” Moreau tells RUE MORGUE, the stories deliver “blood, a werewolf, lust, time travel, a shadow hunter, giallo, love and insanity!
“All four of us are old friends; let’s say that making genre films has brought us closer to each other,” Moreau continues. “Gilles Landucci and I have lived in Tokyo for more than 14 years now, but the main producer, Ishihara Hiroei, as well as the crew and actors were mostly Japanese. Shooting in guerrilla mode on an ultra-low budget was very challenging!”
