Full details and art for Scream Factory’s “WHEN A STRANGER CALLS BACK” Blu-ray

One of the better direct-to-video sequels makes its North American Blu-ray debut in May, as Shout! Factory releases WHEN A STRANGER CALLS BACK under its Scream Factory banner. Read on for the complete specs—including the short film that started it all—and cover art.

Streeting May 28, WHEN A STRANGER CALLS BACK (originally aired on Showtime) reunites writer/director Fred Walton and stars Carol Kane and Charles Durning from the 1979 original STRANGER, with Jill Schoelen (THE STEPFATHER) as a college student stalked by a new psychopath. The Blu-ray will contain a new 2K scan of the original film elements in two aspect rations: 1.33:1 (the original TV broadcast) and 1.78:1. The bonus features are:

  • NEW “Directing a Stranger”: an interview with director Fred Walton
  • NEW “Process is Everything”: an interview with actress Carol Kane
  • NEW “A Stranger’s Prey”: an interview with actress Jill Schoelen
  • Fred Walton’s original short film THE SITTER
  • TV Spot

Retail price is $26.99, but you can pre-order at the Shout! website for $21.99.
