Full details and art: Cult fright films “THE MANITOU” and “SUPERSTITION” on Scream Factory Blu-rays

A pair of vintage over-the-top horror flicks are getting the hi-def special-edition treatment this spring; read on for the complete specs and cover art.

William Girdler’s cult classic THE MANITOU (pictured), based on Graham Masterton’s novel and dealing with an evil Native American medicine man being reborn through an innocent woman, and James Roberson’s SUPERSTITION, about a family bloodily terrorized by a witch’s spirit, will be released by Shout! Factory as part of the Scream Factory line on April 16. THE MANITOU will be presented in a new 4K scan of the original film elements at 2.35:1 widescreen and 1080p HD, with a restored stereo soundtrack; special features are:

  • New interview with author Graham Masterton
  • New “Producing Girdler”: An interview with executive producer David Sheldon
  • New audio commentary by film historian Troy Howarth
  • Theatrical trailer
  • TV spots
  • Still gallery

The SUPERSTITION Blu-ray will contain a new 2K scan from the original film elements in 1.85:1 widescreen and 1080p HD, with these bonus features:

  • New “That Crazy Witchcraft”: An interview with director James Roberson
  • New “Lake of Fire”: An interview with actor James Houghton
  • Theatrical trailer
  • TV spot

Retail prices are $29.99 for MANITOU and $27.99 for SUPERSTITION, but you can head over to the Shout! Factory website and pre-order THE MANITOU for $23.99 and SUPERSTITION for $22.99.
