Francis Ford Coppola revamps his Gothic chiller as “B’TWIXT NOW AND SUNRISE”; release info and art

Ten years later, the veteran filmmaker is issuing “The Authentic Cut” of his genre outing.

Lionsgate has announced a February 28 Blu-ray + Digital release of B’TWIXT NOW AND SUNRISE, the movie previously known simply as TWIXT. Writer/director/producer Francis Ford Coppola describes this version as “a story more personal to me”; it stars Val Kilmer, Bruce Dern, Elle Fanning (pictured), Ben Chaplin, Alden Ehrenreich, Joanne Whalley and David Paymer. The synopsis: “When struggling supernatural fiction writer Hall Baltimore [Kilmer] arrives in an isolated small town as part of his book tour, he hears about the local lore of vampires and an infamous mass murder. Eager for inspiration, Baltimore is swept into a surreal fever dream of eccentric characters–from the oddball sheriff [Dern] to the ghost of a young girl [Fanning] to visions of Edgar Allan Poe [Chaplin]–that forces him to confront his own troubled past.”

The Blu-ray will present the movie in a 1080p 16×9 transfer at 2.00:1, accompanied by Gia Coppola’s TWIXT: A DOCUMENTARY. Retail price is $17.99.
