The young star of the latest Stephen King adaptation has been revealed.

Blumhouse has released the initial photo of actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the pyrokinetic Charlie in FIRESTARTER, being produced by Blumhouse and Weed Road Pictures for Universal Pictures release. Armstrong, who has previously appeared in the 10th season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY and IT: CHAPTER TWO, joins previously announced Zac Efron and Michael Greyeyes (BLOOD QUANTUM) in FIRESTARTER, which is being directed by Keith Thomas (THE VIGIL) from a screenplay by Scott Teems (HALLOWEEN KILLS). The story focuses on Charlie as she and her father (Efron) are pursued by a shadowy government agency that wants to use her explosive ability as a weapon. Jason Blum and Akiva Goldsman are producing the new FIRESTARTER, and Martha De Laurentiis, who served as an associate producer on the previous 1984 film version starring Drew Barrymore, is executive-producing this one.
