Death is on its way back to big screens.
Variety reports that Warner Bros. has set a May 16, 2025 release date for FINAL DESTINATION: BLOODLINES, the sixth in the long-running film series. Like the studio’s EVIL DEAD RISE, this sequel was originally targeted for HBO Max before it was pivoted to theatrical. Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein (pictured), who previously made 2018’s terrific, underseen sci-fi thriller/drama FREAKS, BLOODLINES was written by Guy Busick of the recent SCREAM films and Lori Evans Taylor, from a story by the SPIDER-MAN trilogy’s Jon Watts. Brec Bassinger, Teo Briones, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Richard Harmon, Anna Lore, Owen Patrick Joyner, Max Lloyd-Jones, Rya Kihlstedt and Tinpo Lee star, with the late Tony Todd returning as William Bludworth. The synopsis: “A young woman named Stefani has a recurring dream about dying in a fire that occurred in the 1960s. She realizes that it’s not just a dream, but a premonition of the fate that awaits her family. Her grandmother had escaped the same fate years ago. Now, Death is coming after Stefani’s entire family, and she must find a way to stop it before it’s too late.”
