They can’t wait to have you for dinner.

Producer P.J. Starks gave RUE MORGUE the first look at new character posters for SWEET MEATS, which just wrapped for Troma, Horror House Pictures and NKY Films. Written and directed by Ricky Glore (ALL YOUR FRIENDS ARE DEAD), the combination of horror and musical comedy stars Timmy Barron, Eileen Earnest, Andrew Gordon, Amanda Chilelli and Glore, with makeup effects by Lizzie Schreibeis. The synopsis: “Bobby Sweet is a country music legend and has been the world-renowned face of ‘Sweet Meats’ since establishing his first restaurant with his wife in 1978. How did his restaurant take off so quickly and what makes the meat so darn sweet? Sometimes a ‘secret ingredient’ should stay that way. They always say, ‘You’d be disgusted if you knew what you were really eating!’ They might be right…”

Glore also gave us an update on the movie, which recently completed a successful Indiegogo campaign. “The additional funds acquired through our crowdfunding will go toward postproduction,” he says, “and will help tremendously. We’re excited to be featuring the heavy metal rock band DemonScar, who will be getting an epic death, in the film, as well as a collaborative song between the band and myself entitled ‘Eat the People.’ That was filmed at the infamous haunted attraction Jason’s Woods in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.” Stay tuned for word on when you can chow down on SWEET MEATS.
