Thirty-three more movies round out the lineup of the Brazilian genre showcase.

The folks behind the Fantaspoa Fantastic Film Festival have announced the second and final selection of features showing at the 2023 edition, which runs April 13-30 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, joining the first round we reported on here. There will be a total of 160 features and shorts playing the fest, with the former divided into four different competitive sections: International, Ibero-American, Brazilian and a new section, “Low Budget, Great Films”, dedicated to the filmmakers getting great results from limited finances. According to festival directors João Fleck and Nicolas Tonsho, “‘Low Budget, Great Films’ is a section that emerged from our 2023 entries. There were so many amazing films that applied and blew our minds, and we simply had to acknowledge their abilities to overcome a lack of resources with amazing originality.”
