If SESAME STREET led to the BLAIR WITCH woods, it would look like this.

FOUND TV has announced that it will globally premiere the FOUND Original horror/comedy I HATE FOUND FOOTAGE on July 24. FOUND TV+ members will be able to stream it a day early on the 23rd before it becomes available free with ads worldwide. Written and directed by Michael Rock, and produced by Willow Rock Productions and The Horror Dadz, it stars Rock and Eddie Blake voicing the two puppet leads, Amanda Morgan, Hannah Welty, Angel Arteaga and Blake Hyer. The synopsis: “The film follows two roommates who head into the woods to make their own found footage movie, only to find themselves fighting for survival after encountering something they never expected.”

FOUND also passed on Rock’s backstory: “After medically retiring from serving as a U.S. Army Green Beret and then working as a child exploitation forensic investigator for 12 years, he decided that he had seen enough real-life horror and wanted to try a more lighthearted approach to the found-footage genre. That’s when he contacted his friend Eddie Blake, and pitched the idea of a found-footage comedy/horror movie starring a couple of puppets and a handful of humans.”

“I’ve always been a fan of horror/comedy, but what immediately stood out about this project was how refreshing it felt,” says FOUND TV co-founder Louie La Vella. “Many of us grew up with puppets as part of our entertainment, so seeing those familiar elements brought into a found-footage horror story creates something that’s both nostalgic and unexpected. It’s a great example of the creativity that keeps this genre evolving.”
