The films never existed, but the eye-popping promotional art can be yours thanks to this new volume.
Filmmaker and artist Pat Tremblay will be launching his book TERROR IN THE AILIEN REALMS: TRANSDIMENSIONAL HORROR MOVIE POSTERS & THEIR FILM REVIEWS at Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival this month. Inspired by VHS-box nostalgia, Tremblay created a wide assortment of poster art for fright films allegedly harking from an alternate dimension, with the assistance of AI. He then gathered a group of 50 genre filmmakers, writers and journalists (full disclosure: yours truly is one of them) to write reviews of those fictitious features. The result runs the spectrum from subtle and strange to bizarre and outrageous; four exclusive samples can be seen below.
The TERROR IN THE AILIEN REALMS launch party will take place on Friday, July 28 from 5-7 p.m. at McKibbins Irish Pub, 1426 Bishop, 2nd floor. Sixteen of the contributing writers will be on hand (with a few doing live readings of their reviews); they’re noted with a * in the complete list below:

I don’t love that the AI makes the text illegible, otherwise these would be really cool.
