THE WILD BOYS aren’t what they seem in an unusual new thriller debuting in theaters next month. Read on for an exclusive first look at the poster and a clip from the movie.
Released by Altered Innocence, THE WILD BOYS (a.k.a. LES GARÇONS SAUVAGES) opens August 24 at Los Angeles’ Laemmle Music Hall 3 and then expands to other cities. The feature writing/directing debut of Bertrand Mandico, shot largely in black and white with a surreal edge, it stars five young actresses (Pauline Lorillard, Vimala Pons, Diane Rouxel, Anaël Snoek and Mathilde Warnier) in the male lead roles, along with Sam Louwyck and Elina Lowensohn (LET THE CORPSES TAN). According to the official synopsis, THE WILD BOYS “tells the tale of five adolescent boys enamored by the arts, but drawn to crime and transgression. After a brutal crime committed by the group and aided by TREVOR—a deity of chaos they can’t control—they’re punished to board a boat with a captain hell-bent on taming their ferocious appetites. After arriving on a lush island where dangers and pleasures abound, the boys start to transform in both mind and body.”
