The high-school horror film also has a theatrical premiere in Los Angeles next month.
RUE MORGUE got the first word that THE DEAD PLACE, written and directed by Michael Pickle, will debut on the BloodStreamTV streaming service June 1, followed by TVOD availability on all platforms August 5. Idris Veliu and Lexi Graves star, along with horror stalwarts David Howard Thornton (as his first speaking character) and Bill Oberst Jr. The synopsis: “Troubled high school senior Isaac [Veliu] is plagued by visions of the dead. This causes friction in his family and makes him an outcast at school. His only friend Katharine [Graves] is obsessed with the paranormal and tries desperately to help him, but a ‘New Kid’ [Thornton] pushes him to give in to the demon trying to burrow its way inside him [Oberst]. As he is consumed by the evil feeding off the dead souls that haunt him, Katharine is the only one that stands between Isaac and his darker impulses. To satisfy the bloodlust of the demon that dwells within him.”
THE DEAD PLACE will have a red-carpet theatrical premiere on Wednesday, June 10 at 7 p.m. at the Lumiere Cinema in Beverly Hills, CA, with cast and crew in attendance. Tickets can be purchased here.
