The acclaimed author and screenwriter is celebrated in the new documentary, and we’ve got an exclusive excerpt featuring a few of his fellow horror heroes.

ALL HAIL THE POPCORN KING takes a deep dive into the life and career of Joe R. Lansdale, who has won multiple Bram Stoker Awards (including a Lifetime Achievement Award) and other prizes for his fright and mystery fiction, which includes the Hap and Leonard novels and stories that inspired the SundanceTV series. His work has also been adapted by Don Coscarelli (BUBBA HO-TEP, the INCIDENT ON AND OFF A MOUNTAIN ROAD episode of MASTERS OF HORROR) and Jim Mickle (COLD IN JULY); his son Keith Lansdale scripted CHRISTMAS WITH THE DEAD from his story, with Terrill Lee Lankford directing. Directed by Hansi Oppenheimer, ALL HAIL THE POPCORN KING features appearances by Lansdale, Coscarelli, Bruce Campbell, Mick Garris, David J. Schow, Joe Hill, James Purefoy and many others; it is currently touring the country and will see wider release in the coming months. You can also see the trailer below the clip.
