She’ll play a very grown-up addition to the Atomic Monster/Blumhouse AI universe.
The two horror companies have announced that Lily Sullivan will take the title role in SOULM8TE, playing and “Artificially Intelligent android a man acquires to help him cope with the loss of his recently deceased wife,” according to the PR. Needless to say, things go awry with this relationship in frightening ways. The film, described as “in the tradition of the ’90s domestic thrillers but with a modern, technological twist,” will be directed by Kate Dolan (YOU ARE NOT MY MOTHER), who rewrote the original script by Rafael Jordan, from a story by James Wan (who produces with Jason Blum), Ingrid Bisu and Jordan. Sullivan shot to horror prominence as EVIL DEAD RISE’s beleaguered and ultimately heroic Beth, and has also appeared in Greg McLean’s JUNGLE, Matt Vesley’s MONOLITH and the current miniseries version of PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK.
