DSTLRY COMBINES POP STARS WITH THE DIVINE IN NEW HORROR/COMEDY COMIC “BLASFAMOUS”

Fresh comic company DSTLRY puts out a tale on popstar life with a divine spin with their brand-new comic BLASFAMOUS.

Based on a story within their debut book The Devil’s Cut, the new comic aims to recapture the “sardonic wit of The Good Place” according to the press release. Placed in an urban fantasy setting, the tale intends to ask how far people will go to maintain their fame.

BLASFAMOUS picks apart what it means to worship—whether it’s a prophet or popstar,” said Andolfo “It’s also a new opportunity to draw some of the most lavish and exhilarating spectacles of my career, with an oversized canvas to make every page truly sing.”

BLASFAMOUS will be released with various variant covers from several different comic book artists, including Stjepan Sejic, Junko Mizuno, Tula Lotay, and Stanley “Artgerm” Lau.

The comic is set in a modern world where pop stars can rise to become literally divine. Whether demonic or angelic, the worship of fans accumulates power. The story follows global pop icon Clelia, whose worship is threatened when a new pop icon gains fame. As the level of fame grows, so does Clelia’s need to be top pop star.

BLASFAMOUS #1 is available for pre-order and will be released in local comic shops and dstlry.co on December 20.
