Director Mike Pecci Premieres Gripping Psychological Horror Short Film “COME HOME”

Renowned horror film director Mike Pecci (12 Kilometers) is set to captivate audiences with the premiere of his latest psychological horror short film, “COME HOME.” The film will debut at both the Nightmares Film Festival and FilmQuest this month.

“COME HOME” stars the talented Lance A. Williams and offers a high-anxiety exploration of a man desperately battling his inner demons while racing to finish a Christmas gift for his daughter. In a moment of weakness, he strikes a chilling deal with the devil to steady his trembling hand, plunging himself into a violent battle for his very soul.

Motivated by his own firsthand encounters within the demanding landscape of the Hollywood film industry, Pecci crafted “COME HOME” in direct response to the challenges confronted by emerging filmmakers today. “The film was made in response to a frustrating experience I had developing films out here in Hollywood,” Pecci expressed. “Navigating the countless script notes, budget restrictions, and industry politics to bring forth an original and genuinely terrifying concept is reason enough to seek a therapist. This short film was an excuse to do all the things I was told not to do on that project and prove that they work.”

Collaborating with his longtime friend and accomplished actor Lance A. Williams (The Equalizer 2), Pecci dived deep into character development. They drew inspiration from renowned acting and directing coach Judith Weston, whom they encountered on Pecci’s podcast “IN LOVE WITH THE PROCESS.” Months of studying Weston’s techniques allowed them to craft a compelling character.

One of the standout elements of the film is the music score by Jonathan Bates, renowned as Big Black Delta, which includes a needle drop that promises to make the audience stand up and cheer.

“At its core, “COME HOME” is essentially a one-man stage play, infused with the visual language of my favorite horror films, taking the audience deep inside the struggle this character faces in keeping his life together,” says Pecci of his film.
