Once attached to another major horror reboot, David Bruckner is now set to direct the update of Clive Barker’s Cenobite saga for Spyglass.

Deadline reports that Bruckner, who was previously involved in a FRIDAY THE 13TH reboot for Paramount and Platinum Dunes, has been signed for the new HELLRAISER. It was scripted by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, whose credits include SIREN and the excellent SUPER DARK TIMES, from a story by David S. Goyer, who is also producing via his Phantom Four company with Keith Levine. Bruckner first broke out in the anthology-horror field, helming standout segments of THE SIGNAL, V/H/S and SOUTHBOUND before moving on to the well-received Netflix movie THE RITUAL. His most recent feature, THE NIGHT HOUSE, was a Sundance Film Festival world premiere early this year that was picked up for release by Searchlight by $12 million.
