Sunday, August 29, 2021 | Events

Denver, CO – The Colorado Festival of Horror (COFOH) inaugural 2021 event will highlight the horror genre, and all that it bleeds. COFOH will be a platform for the community to unite over the love of horror and everything that creeps in the night!

The Colorado Festival of Horror (COFOH) inaugural event will take place on September 10-12, 2021, at Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Central Park, 4444 N. Havana St, Denver, CO 80239. COFOH is an intimate fan experience and convention for all things horror, featuring celebrity guests Brinke Stevens (iconic 80s Scream Queen), Brian Bonsall (former child star of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Family Ties and horror film Mikey),  Ed & Marsha Edmunds (Distortions Unlimited & Travel Channel’s Making Monsters), horror film directors Christopher Mihm (The Giant Spider) and Jimmy Lee Combs (Terror Tales), horror comic artists Zach Howard (Hellboy, Joe Hill’s The Cape), and Jolyon Yates (Creepshow), Hollywood concept artist Xander Smith (Godzilla vs. Kong, American Horror Story), local artist Joe Oliver (Lazer Party). Plus spooky artists, frightening writers, scary vendors, and so much more!

Denver and the Front Range support a lively and vibrant horror community. The mission of COFOH is to unite that community with artists, guests and vendors from all over in a safe space.  There is nothing more exciting than that shudder that comes from being scared, and the hilarity that follows.

About COFOH Guest Brinke Stevens: Brinke Stevens has been involved in the film business since 1981, with her debut in Roger Corman’s Slumber Party Massacre.  She has appeared in over 200 movies, many of them fantasy and horror, earning her the honored title of “Scream Queen”. Her recent films include Disciples, Axeman, Adam K, Safe Inside, and Die Sister, Die!. She was featured in The Psycho Legacy documentary. Brinke also wrote and published her own comic book series, Brinke of Destruction and a science fiction novel, Dangerous Toys. She co-produced two horror documentaries, Shock Cinema and Something to Scream About, and also wrote and directed Personal Demons (2018).

Brinke has a long history in the early years of San Diego Comic-Con, winning the first Masquerade Contest in 1973 as “Vampirella”, and running that renowned costume contest for many years.  One of the judges was “Vampirella” co-creator Forrest J. Ackerman and they became life-long friends. Brinke also modeled for her artist husband Dave Stevens as “Betty” for his Rocketeer comic books.
