The ritualistic fright film is coming to spread some Yuletide anti-cheer.
Shudder has set a December 8 streaming debut date for THE SACRIFICE GAME, director Jenn Wexler’s follow-up to THE RANGER. Scripted by Wexler and Sean Redlitz, it stars Mena Massoud, Olivia Scott Welch, Georgia Acken, Madison Baines, Gus Kenworthy, THE RANGER’s Chloë Levine, Derek Johns and Laurent Pitre, with makeup effects by Adrien Morot (M3GAN, THE WHALE). The synopsis: “The Blackvale School for Girls, 1971. It’s bad enough that students Samantha [Baines] and Clara [Acken] can’t go home for the holidays, but things take a deadly turn when a gang of cult killers arrives at their doorstep–just in time for Christmas.”
THE SACRIFICE GAME took the Gold Award for Best Canadian Feature at this year’s Fantasia International Film Festival. You can see our review here.
