“CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST” returning to theaters as you’ve never seen it before; new trailer

The many shocking sights are being presented on big screens, fully uncensored and restored.

Grindhouse Releasing has begun theatrical playdates for its 4K presentation of Ruggero Deodato’s notorious 1980 shocker CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST. The movie, in which a documentary crew disappears in the Amazon rainforest, and a team that goes to rescue them discovers their horrible fate, has been restored with the doc team’s horrific footage shown in its native 16mm aspect ratio for the first time. “It’s a whole new and perhaps even more powerful experience watching the movie this way, with the alternating aspect ratios,” says Grindhouse owner and Oscar-winning film editor (THE HURT LOCKER, SEND HELP) Bob Murawski. “This is essentially the same way we constructed Orson Welles’ long-unfinished masterpiece THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND.”

The new CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST will screen at the following venues/dates:

More bookings are to be announced, so keep your eye on the Grindhouse Releasing website. https://grindhousereleasing.com/screenings/
