Independent chills and violent thrills are part of the fest’s wide-ranging offerings.
The complete list of features has been revealed for the 2026 Boston Underground Film Festival, which runs Wednesday-Sunday, March 18-22 at the Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square and the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline. The closing night will feature Kenji Tanigaki’s action-packed martial-arts crime thriller THE FURIOUS, starring Joe Taslim (THE RAID), Yayan Ruhian (THE RAID), Miao Xie (THE ENFORCER) and Brian Le (EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE). Also on the schedule is the East Coast premiere of Becca Kozak’s SUGAR ROT (reviewed here) and the New England premieres of Alice Maio Mackay’s THE SERPENT’S SKIN (pictured), Avalon Fast’s CAMP, Nick Funess’ THE HEDONIST, Brooke Sellars’ CRAMPS! A PERIOD PIECE and Simon Glassman’s BUFFET INFINITY. In addition, David Kittredge’s BOORMAN AND THE DEVIL (reviewed here), a documentary on EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC, will be screened, complemented with showings of EXORCIST II at the Coolidge After Midnight.
Those films join these previously announced titles: Curry Barker’s OBSESSION, Natalie Erika James’ SACCHARINE, Ben Wheatley’s NORMAL and a 40th-anniversary showing of Tobe Hooper’s THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 with star Bill Moseley, who will also be on hand for a late-night screening of Rob Zombie’s THE DEVIL’S REJECTS.
