Body-horror film “SACCHARINE,” from “RELIC” director, gets a date, trailer & poster

The dark side of dieting has a secret ingredient.

Independent Film Company and Shudder bring SACCHARINE to theaters across the U.S. May 22. Written and directed by Natalie Erika James (RELIC, APARTMENT 7A), it stars Midori Francis, Danielle Macdonald, Madeleine Madden, Robert Taylor, Showko Showfukutei and Octavia Barron Martin. The synopsis: “Hana (Midori Francis), a lovelorn medical student, becomes terrorized by a sinister force after taking part in an obscure weight loss craze: eating human ashes.”
