Blumhouse reveals “BLACK PHONE 2” trailer/poster, new “FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S 2” poster and more

The fright factory is bringing on the sequels this fall/winter.

Blumhouse founder/CEO Jason Blum celebrated the company’s 15th anniversary today at the CCXP Mexico event, unveiling early looks at some of their most anticipated releases. These included the posters seen here for THE BLACK PHONE 2 (pictured above) and FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S 2, coming to theaters from Blumhouse and Universal October 17 and December 5 respectively, along with the trailer for BLACK PHONE 2 and a “sizzle reveal” for Blumhouse Games.

BLACK PHONE 2 is once again directed by Scott Derrickson from a script he wrote with C. Robert Cargill, based on Joe Hill’s characters. According to the PR, “Four-time Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke returns to the most sinister role of his career as The Grabber seeks vengeance on Finn [Mason Thames] from beyond the grave by menacing Finn’s younger sister, Gwen [Madeleine McGraw].  The cast includes Oscar nominee Demián Bichir [THE NUN] as the supervisor of the camp, Arianna Rivas as his niece, Miguel Mora [back from the original] as the brother of one of The Grabber’s victims, and Jeremy Davies, returning as Finn and Gwen’s father, Terrence. Other new cast members include Maev Beaty [BEAU IS AFRAID] and Graham Abbey.”

FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S 2 sees Emma Tammi back to direct more animatronic terrors. As for Blumhouse Games, “Following the strong reception to FEAR THE SPOTLIGHT, the company’s debut title featuring an original horror story, we’re doubling down on the bold, inventive takes on the genre. The company will soon unveil release windows for the three distinct and terrifying experiences: CRISOL, a first-person action-adventure set in a twisted vision of Spain; SLEEP AWAKE, a psychedelic descent into the space between sleep and death; and GRAVE SEASONS, a game that combines family, fishing–and hunting a serial killer. PLUG, a brand-new-co-op horror title, is on the horizon.”
