Black Fawn Distribution Acquires Unhinged Sci-Fi Comedy “THE HYPERBOREAN” – See the Opening Scene Now!

A seasoned crisis manager finds himself in over his head in a PR nightmare involving a triple homicide, an Arctic ice mummy and a batch of intergalactic moonshine when he gets entangled with a dysfunctional family and their failing whiskey business in THE HYPERBOREAN. Liv Collins (The Hexecutioners), Tony Burgess, Ry Barrett (In a Violent Nature), Jessica Vano, Jonathan Craig, Marcia Alderson, and Justin Bott star.

Recently acquired for Canadian release by Black Fawn Distribution, the unhinged new sci-fi comedy from director  Jesse Thomas Cook of Collingwood film and writer Tony Burgess (Pontypool) is now available on VOD platforms across Canada, with a Blu-ray release (featuring retro VHS-style art, director’s commentary, still gallery, trailers and more) to come later this year. Black Fawn has shared the film’s creepy animated opening sequence with RUE MORGUE. See it now!

“I’m absolutely thrilled to partner with Black Fawn Distribution for the Canadian release of THE HYPERBOREAN,” says Cook, adding, “Their dedication to creating special edition Blu-rays and passion for physical media mirrors our own commitment to innovative genre storytelling. It’s exciting to collaborate with a distributor who shares our enthusiasm for bringing unique films to audiences in such a thoughtful and engaging way.”

Black Fawn Distribution’s sales manager, CF Benner, echoes the filmmaker’s enthusiasm, stating, “We’re excited to be working with a filmmaking team with such a long-standing pedigree as Collingwood Film Company. We’ve been a fan of their films for years, so it’s a really unique opportunity to have our two companies come together and work on a cool project like this one.”

THE HYPERBOREAN is fresh from a successful worldwide festival run that included screenings at Panic Fest, Fantasporto, Blood In The Snow, Another Hole In The Head, Soho Horror Fest, FilmQuest, Fogfest and Rojo Sangre.

The film is available on U.S. streaming services through Freestyle Digital Media.
