After winning applause at its world premiere at Fantastic Fest and the Best Midnight X-Treme Feature award at the Sitges Film Festival, the horror/musical ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE is heading for release later this year.
Orion Pictures has announced that it will open ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE December 7 in select theaters, with nationwide expansion to follow into the Christmas season. Based on the late Ryan McHenry’s BAFTA-winning 2010 short ZOMBIE MUSICAL, the feature was directed by John McPhail from a script by him and McHenry, and stars Ella Hunt, Malcolm Cumming, Ben Wiggins, Sarah Swire, Christopher Leveaux, Marli Siu, Mark Benton and Paul Kaye, with original music by Roddy Hart and Tommy Reilly. The synopsis: “A zombie apocalypse threatens the sleepy town of Little Haven—at Christmas—forcing Anna [Hunt] and her friends to fight, slash and sing their way to survival, facing the undead in a desperate race to reach their loved ones.” Keep up with ANNA at its Facebook page.
