“ANTIVIRAL” and “THELMA” stars head into “THE NORTHWOODS”; first poster

A pair of actresses with significant genre cred star in THE NORTHWOODS, a Canadian/Norwegian fright film that will be rolling soon. Keep reading for the full info and the initial poster.

Film Mode Entertainment, levelFILM and Handmade Films in Norwegian Woods are teaming on THE NORTHWOODS, which marks the feature writing/directing debut of award-winning music-video helmer Emma Higgins. Set to shoot in northern Norway and Canada, it will star Sarah Gadon (pictured) of ANTIVIRAL, DRACULA UNTOLD and 11/22/63 (she also starred in season three of TRUE DETECTIVE and played the title role in Netflix’s ALIAS GRACE) and Elli Harboe, making her English-language debut after winning notice in the lead of Joachim Trier’s THELMA. The synopsis: “Returning home for the first time since their mother’s tragic passing, Sonya [Gadon] and Aly [Harboe] decide to reconnect on a trek of the vast Norwegian fjords. When their guide mysteriously disappears, the two sisters quickly realize that trying to outrun the horrors of their past is just as futile as escaping what is waiting in the darkness. As the ill-fated hikers struggle for their very lives, they begin to realize that something much worse than death lurks in the depths of the woods.”
