André Øvredal’s supernatural saga “MORTAL” has a release date, trailer and poster

A new film from the director of TROLL HUNTER, THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE and SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK is cause for excitement, and his latest is on the way next month.

Saban Films will release André Øvredal’s MORTAL in select theaters and on VOD/digital platforms November 6, followed by Blu-ray November 10. Øvredal scripted the movie with Norman Lesperance and Geoff Bussetil, and it stars Nat Wolff (DEATH NOTE and the upcoming THE STAND), Iben Akerlie, Per Frisch, Per Egil Aske and Priyanka Bose. The synopsis: “A sleepy Norwegian town erupts after an American backpacker, Eric [Wolff], is arrested. Witnesses claim a teen died after touching the stranger, and that he inexplicably started a fire that engulfed a farm. He warns a psychologist, Christine [Akerlie], that he has supernatural powers, and that anyone who gets too close to him dies. Is Eric a liar, a freak of nature, an angry god? Determined to find the truth, Christine draws nearer, and what she finds is beyond her wildest imaginings…”
