The new installment of the acclaimed horror anthology series explores a horrific hospital.
AMC+ and Shudder have announced that the six-episode THE TERROR: DEVIL IN SILVER will premiere Thursday, May 7, with new installments debuting weekly after that. It will also air on AMC later this year. The show is based on the 2012 novel THE DEVIL IN SILVER by Victor LaValle, who serves as writer and showrunner along with Chris Cantwell and Karyn Kusama (THE INVITATION), the latter of whom directed the first two episodes. Ridley Scott is an executive producer along with Dan Stevens (CUCKOO, ABIGAIL), who heads up the cast that also includes Judith Light, CCH Pounder (TALES FROM THE CRYPT: DEMON KNIGHT), Aasif Mandvi, John Benjamin Hickey, Stephen Root, Michael Aronov, Marin Ireland (THE DARK AND THE WICKED, BIRTH/REBIRTH), Chinaza Uche, Hampton Fluker, b, Hayward Leach and Philip Ettinger.
According to the official synopsis, Stevens “stars as Pepper—a working-class moving man who, through a combination of bad luck and a bad temper, finds himself wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital—an institution filled with those society would rather forget. There, he must contend with patients working against him, doctors harboring grim secrets, and perhaps even the Devil himself. As Pepper navigates a hellscape where nothing is as it seems, he finds that the only path to freedom is to face the entity which thrives on the suffering within New Hyde’s walls—but doing so may prove that the worst demons of all live inside him.”
