The alien hunter’s seventh screen outing is a period piece.

Variety reports that PREY will stream on Hulu in the U.S. and Star internationally in summer 2022; it has not been announced whether the film will play theaters beforehand. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 CLOVERFIELD LANE) from a script by Patrick Aison and shot under the title SKULLS, it stars indigenous actor Amber Midthunder. The synopsis: “Set in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, the action-thriller follows Naru, the skilled warrior who fiercely protects her tribe against a highly evolved alien predator.” Naru desires to “prove her worth as a warrior,” and “certainly gets her chance when she comes face to face with the most dangerous hunter of all, the other-worldly predator.”

The announcement came this morning as part of the Disney Plus Day promotional event; PREY is a 20th Century Studios production.
