Preorders are open for a new Scream 30th anniversary collector’s set, an Amazon exclusive from Alliance Entertainment that repackages Wes Craven‘s 1996 slasher on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and digital inside a prop heavy evidence kit built around the a phone.
The centerpiece is a replica of the blood spattered cordless phone Ghostface uses to menace Drew Barrymore‘s Casey Becker in the opening scene, reproduced so that it rings and plays lines of dialogue from the film. The rest of the set leans into the same conceit, including a Woodsboro Police Department folder that houses the two discs, a persons of interest suspect sheet, six Polaroid style suspect photographs, a recreated Woodsboro newspaper clipping, and one bonus item Alliance has not yet disclosed.
Scream, written by Kevin Williamson and directed by Craven, reinvigorated the slasher genre on its original release and helped kick off a wave of self aware horror throughout the late 1990s. The collector’s set arrives December 15 and is priced at $109.99, available now for preorder through Amazon.
