Following its fest debut, the religion-tinged chiller sees wide release next month.
JAKOB’S WIFE, directed by Travis Stevens (GIRL ON THE THIRD FLOOR) from a script he wrote with Mark Steensland and Kathy Charles, is part of this week’s on-line SXSW Film Festival, and hits select theaters and VOD/digital platforms April 16. Barbara Crampton (RE-ANIMATOR, YOU’RE NEXT), veteran genre filmmaker/actor Larry Fessenden, Nyisha Bell, Mark Kelly, Sarah Lind, Robert Rusler (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2, VAMP), Bonnie Aarons (THE NUN, THE CONJURING 2) and GIRL ON THE THIRD FLOOR star Phil Brooks (a.k.a. CM Punk) star. The synopsis: “Anne [Crampton] is married to a small-town minister [Fessenden] and feels like her life and marriage have been shrinking over the past 30 years. After a chance encounter with ‘The Master,’ she discovers a new sense of power and an appetite to live bigger and bolder than before.
