Exclusive “DAY OF THE DEAD” poster at Living Dead Weekend as part of 40th-anniversary celebration

A special souvenir awaits fans of the George A. Romero classic.

DAY OF THE DEAD is poised to begin a 40th-anniversary nationwide tour of theaters, drive-ins and other venues across the U.S. from Red Band Releasing, which brought DAWN OF THE DEAD back to big screens a few years ago. The rollout begins July 1 and continues through Halloween, and before that, a number of DAY’s cast will be appearing at Living Dead Weekend, which takes place at Pennsylvania’s Monroeville Mall (where the dead stalked in DAWN) this weekend, June 6-8. Attendees of that show will be able to pick up one of 200 limited-edition posters (see below) for the DAY rerelease, featuring an expanded credit box adding cast members Jarlath Conroy, John Amplas, Taso Stavrakis, Greg Nicotero and Howard Sherman. All those actors will be in attendance and signing at the convention, along with Lori Cardille, Terry Alexander and makeup effects master Tom Savini. This poster will be available exclusively at the Weekend, not via on-line or any other sources.

For info on where you can catch DAY this summer and fall, head over to the Red Band website. And the distributor advises, “If you don’t see a nearby screening listed there, we urge you to contact your local independent theaters or drive-ins, and tell them you want to see DAY OF THE DEAD on the big screen for its 40th anniversary by contacting us at RedBandReleasing@gmail.com for booking info. This grassroots campaigning for shows actually works! Last year we booked over 20 of the 100-plus theatres spurred on by horror fans contacting their local venues!”
