Feel the “THIRST” with the trailer for rocker Eric Owen’s horror film

Lack of sleep leads to worse mania than usual for the residents of one small town.

Gravitas Ventures releases THIRST to digital platforms September 5. The feature writing/directing debut of Eric Owen, drummer with alternative rock duo Black Pistol Fire, it stars Brian Villalobos, Lori Kovacevich, Federica Rangel, Stephanie Slayton, Sarah Jack and Scotty Walker. The synopsis: “Jose Martinez [Villalobos], a lawyer with a history of substance abuse, struggles with insomnia while he and his wife, Lucy [Kovacevich], seek fertility treatments in hopes of having their first baby. Jose’s insomnia worsens, causing him to act erratically, which concerns Lucy, his sister Vicky [Rangel] and her girlfriend Lisa [Slayton]. The insomnia spreads throughout the town, with some residents becoming unhinged and dangerous. As the situation becomes more dire, Jose, Vicky, Lisa, and Lucy head to an abandoned ranch on the outskirts of town. While this is initially their salvation, nefarious characters descend upon the pond, claiming it as their own, and chaos ensues.”
