Originally set as a Blumhouse Tilt release for later this year, the supernatural date-from-hell thriller is now going streaming.
Blumhouse Productions, which produced RUN SWEETHEART RUN with Automatik, has announced that the movie was been acquired for an international worldwide launch by Amazon Prime Video, on a date to be determined. Written and directed by Shana Feste, it premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and was a selection for SXSW, and stars Ella Balinska (CHARLIE’S ANGELS), Pilou Asbæk, Aml Ameen, Dayo Okeniyi, Betsy Brandt, Clark Gregg (THE AVENGERS) and Shohreh Aghdashloo. The story concerns a blind date that turns violent, leaving the woman to flee home on foot through Los Angeles as she’s pursued by her date.
“As crazy as audiences may find the film protagonist’s experience,” Feste says, “I wrote and directed a film that is based on a very personal story for me and I’m thrilled that a global audience will have the chance to see it soon on Amazon Prime. I’m also grateful to my friends at Universal and Blumhouse for their unending support of the film.”
“Shana is a supremely talented writer and director, and we were fortunate to collaborate with her to help bring her vision to fruition,” says producer Jason Blum. “I’m thrilled that movie loving audiences around the world will get to see the film soon.” Stay tuned for word on when RUN SWEETHEART RUN will be available for viewing.
