Trailer Drops for “Last Shift” Reboot “Malum” From Writer/Director Anthony DiBlasi

MALUM, from LAST SHIFT writer/director Anthony DiBlasi, will hit theatres nationwide this week. The film plunges viewers into a relentless, adrenaline-fueled, bloody, cult nightmare. MALUM focuses on a rookie police officer who willingly takes the last shift at a newly decommissioned police station in an attempt to uncover the mysterious connection between her father’s death and a vicious cult. Throughout the night, she finds herself barraged by terrifying supernatural events while unveiling the truth behind her family’s twisted past.

The first American director since Leo McCary in 1957 to remake his own feature film, DiBlasi headed to LA after graduating from Emerson College and landed a job as an assistant to horror icon, Clive Barker, quickly becoming his protégé, eventually producing MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN and BOOK OF BLOOD. He spent over a decade collaborating on projects with Barker.

Far from a shot-for-shot remake, MALUM pays respect to the original film but is a different type of movie that has given the filmmakers a chance to tell their full story with all the right resources. MALUM proudly leans heavily into practical FX, as opposed to CGI which the filmmakers believe always makes a horror film that much scarier. Check out the trailer below.
