The Bootleg Horrors of Mexico
In the last couple of years, it’s become clear that children will latch on to the creepiest of things. If there’s a reason for this, I haven’t found it. Slenderman and Siren Head were both the spookiest of online sensations. Considering Siren Head is a giant monster with massive speaker horns for a head, it’s a little shocking. Then came Five Nights at Freddy’s, a game about surviving the night in a closed kid’s amusement restaurant where the robotic mascots creep up and attempt to eat you. Adorable. The kids went so crazy for it, you’d be hard-pressed to find one actually terrifying toy from the game. IT’S ALL KID FRIENDLY!!! Meanwhile, in Mexico where they give no f**ks and like their horror extra scary, you’ll find Five Nights bootlegs that are the level of nightmare fuel we should have gotten in the first place. As an added bonus, they all have disco lights in the chest – as if to say, “Come … dance with me…” And then they eat you. VIVA MEXICO!
