A highlight of the past year’s international horror scene, the horrific story of a man who converses with corpses is poised to make its disc debut.

RLJE Films has announced that THE NIGHTSHIFTER, which premiered as a Shudder exclusive and was directed by Dennison Ramalho (the acclaimed shorts NINJAS and LOVE FOR MOTHER ONLY, co-scripter of the Coffin Joe revival film EMBODIMENT OF EVIL), will arrive on DVD January 7. Written by Ramalho with Cláudia Jouvin and Marco de Castro, the film stars Daniel de Oliveira, Fabiula Nascimento, Bianca Comparato and Marco Ricca; the synopsis: “Stênio [Oliveira] works the graveyard shift in the morgue of a vast, violent city. Each night he prepares the lifeless corpses for examination, but he’s never alone. For Stênio can talk to the dead…and they talk back. But when the whispers of the dead reveal secrets of his own life, Stênio unleashes a curse that brings forth unimaginable danger and darkness.” Check out our review of THE NIGHTSHIFTER here.
