Stephen King himself is writing the entirety of LISEY’S STORY, the upcoming eight-part Apple series based on his 2006 novel, and now a director has been signed.
At a recent Q&A following a screening of her new movie AFTER THE WEDDING, Julianne Moore, who stars in LISEY’S STORY, revealed that it will be directed by Pablo Larrain (pictured), the Oscar-nominated Chilean filmmaker whose credits include JACKIE, NERUDA, NO and the serial-killer drama TONY MANERO. J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot are producing the series—his third small-screen King project following Hulu’s 11.22.63 and CASTLE ROCK. LISEY’S STORY follows Lisey Landon, widow of a popular novelist, as she begins cleaning out her deceased husband’s belongings. This activity brings forth repressed memories his troubled history, which includes murder and psychic phenomena, while she is stalked by a deranged fan of his in the present day.
