Renegade Film Fest Brings Fear To Georgia This March

The Renegade Film Festival (“Fostering a sense of community and empowering one another to create”) hits Atlanta Georgia this March with a killer selection of films and special guests! Read on for full details.

The Renegade Film Festival is gearing up for its first LIVE event under the new name, March 3-5, 2022 at the historic Earl Smith Strand Theatre on the Marietta Square in Atlanta, GA. Fest director Vanessa Wright said, “I’m so thrilled to be back at the Strand for a live event. It’s been a long two years and I think everyone is craving and needing this.”

The fest will be screening six feature films and seventy-three short films over the course of the three day event, including special screenings of the documentary WOLFMAN’S GOT NARDS co-written and directed by The Monster Squad’s Andre Gower and the Blumhouse/Universal hit film, FREAKY, Starring Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton. Gower is scheduled to be at the fest for a special Q&A following his film as well as FREAKY writer, Michael Kennedy, who will also be at the fest for the screening as well as the Q&A immediately following the film.

In addition to the films, there are 23 combined short and feature screenplays whose writers are being celebrated as finalists. All of the scores have been tabulated and winners will be announced Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the awards ceremony, hosted by Wright and writer/director Adam Marcus (Jason Goes to Hell, Texas Chainsaw, Secret Santa)

Fest director Vanessa Wright is extremely proud to announce that that 76% of the films screening in March are directed by a woman, BIPOC or member of the LGBTQIA+ community. “Representation matters, visibility matters; we are learning and we are growing and constantly evolving, and we invite you to be a part of the revolution,” says Wright.

Tickets are available NOW, through the Strand Box office and by visiting the Renegade Film Fest website. For more information on the fest, questions and how to get involved, please visit www.renegadefilmfest.com.
