A “RED KROKODIL” is Unearthed for special-edition disc release; info, art and trailer

There are no reptiles on view in RED KROKODIL, but rather a portrait of drug-induced madness courtesy of director/cinematographer Domiziano Cristopharo. The director’s cut of the 2011 film is being reissued on special-editon Blu-ray and DVD; read on for the details, cover art and trailer.

Written by Francesco Scardone, RED KROKODIL hits the two disc formats January 23 from Unearthed Films. According to the official synopsis, the movie “is the story of a man [Brock Madson, who produced with Cristopharo] addicted to the mind-numbing drug Krokodil. He suddenly finds himself alone in a post-nuclear city similar to Chernobyl. His physical decay, caused by the massive intake of drugs, is mirrored by his inner world, as reality mixes with hallucinations. The decomposition of the flesh caused by Krokodil is severe in its graphic yet slow destruction. Madness and desperation are rampant as one man’s addiction to the drug runs out of control.”

The disc extras are:

  • Deleted scenes
  • FX test and alternate ending music
  • Photo gallery
  • Unearthed Films trailers and teaser
