The glory days of omnibus horror films from Amicus and others is revisited in THE HOUSE OF SCREAMING DEATH, a new British production seeing release this month. We’ve got the exclusive details and poster to share with you, along with the trailer.
THE HOUSE OF SCREAMING DEATH, which enjoyed a successful festival run this year, sees HD digital release next Tuesday, December 18 from PopCinema, followed by a limited-edition Blu-ray next spring that will include filmmaker commentary and behind-the-scenes features. The movie was conceived, written and directed by Alex Bourne, David Hastings, Mark Lees, Troy Dennison, Rebecca Harris-Smith and Kaushy Patel, and stars Ian McNeice (DOCTOR WHO, FROM HELL), Sha’ori Morris, Brett Dewsbury, Leah Green, Craig Edwards and Troy Dennison. The synopsis: “Ghouls, demons, witches and the undead stalk the halls of an eerie mansion known as Bray Manor, summoned forth over the course of one night by the tales of a mysterious figure known as The Architect. Listen if you dare to these terrifying tales of the macabre, because at each end comes a spine-tingling twist—while the Architect has one last devilish secret of his own to share!”
“THE HOUSE OF SCREAMING DEATH is an exciting addition to the new rash of classic horror-inspired films coming out of the UK, Europe and North America,” says PopCinema’s Paige Davis, “and it’s certain to appeal to fans of GHOST STORIES, THE WOMAN IN BLACK, the Amicus and Hammer Horror libraries and BBC One’s ‘A Ghost Story for Christmas.’ In fact, we’re following the UK tradition of spooky tales told around the winter holidays, popularized by Dickens and M.R. James, by scheduling the digital release in December. The gothic sensibilities, emphasis on the supernatural and period elements make THE HOUSE OF SCREAMING DEATH a deliciously eerie way to spend a chilly holiday evening!”
